The Forked River Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary is made up of a group of devoted women who give their time and their efforts to the Forked River Fire Department. These dedicated women answer alarms and make sure fire crews on scene have water, coffee, and food. They also hold fundraisers such as Car Washes and a Mother’s Day Plant Sale. We recognize their importance as a support network to the fire department and honor their appreciated deeds.
The Ladies Auxiliary meets on the 3rd Monday of each month @ 7:30 pm. New members are always welcome. If you are interested in joining please call the firehouse and leave a message. The phone number is 609-693-2182.
The Forked River Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary was originally founded in 1928. In the forties, the organization had dissolved when the men went to fight in World War II. To help protect the residents of Lacey Township the women served in the Ambulance Corp. It wasn’t until 1957 when Stella Wilbert had re-organized and brought back the Ladies Auxiliary.
P. Grant and M. Bea, two of the original charter members, still serve to this day.
