Forked River firefighters came to the rescue of a family pet on Thanksgiving Day. The Fire Department was dispatched to an animal rescue on Buena Vista Rd. On arrival, firefighters discovered a cat stuck in a tree and assisted with getting the animal down. Firefighter Chris Heayn climbed 35ft up an extension ladder, removed the cat from the tree and returned her safely to their owner.
