The Forked River Fire Department regrets to announce the passing of Past President John (Jack) Flynn on July 2nd. Jack, father of Ex-Chief Kevin Flynn and Deputy Chief Brian Flynn was a member of the department for 36 years. As a life member he served as President and Trustee.

On December 27, 2010 the Forked River Fire Department responded to a structure fire at Sweet Jenny's Restaurant in Barnegat Township. Engines 6031, 6041 along with Tanker 6008 and Ladder 6015 responded to the scene. Master streams from Engine 6031 and Ladder Truck 6015 were used to assist in extinguishing the fire. On December 19, 2010 the Forked River Fire Department responded to a vehicle fire on Spruce Street. Chief Kevin Flynn arrived on scene to find a fully involved vehicle with arcing powerlines on it. The crews from Engine 6031 and 6021 resonded to the scene and awaited JCP&L to disconnect the powerline before extinguishing the vehicle.
